What it is

Design, technology and business come together, covering product design and visualisation, technical problem-solving, manufacturing and production, usability and user-centred design, and sustainability and social impact. From year one you work on live projects for real clients, in team-based studio assignments with companies, and document your results in a portfolio, with coaching from lecturers and a study coach. Year three offers an internship or minor abroad through the network of partners around the Venlo campus. Graduates work as product designers, design engineers, freelance design consultants or structural packaging designers, with employers such as Philips, Canon and Bosch, and can continue to a master in design or engineering.

Every IB applicant at Fontys

The IB Diploma is named as giving access. Many programmes also want satisfactory maths grades, engineering also physics or chemistry, with no IB grade set. An IB Diploma usually exempts you from an English test.
