    Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

Every date in the Netherlands

What it is

You learn anatomy and physiology, neurology, orthopaedics and pathology, basic techniques such as movement therapy and massage, and social skills. A typical week combines 16 class hours, four project hours and 16 hours of self-study, with patient contact from year one, where you assess patients and draw up treatment plans under supervision. Internships run through the programme and finish with a final placement alongside a research project. In years three and four you choose a focus programme in Healthcare, Self-Management or Interprofessional Collaboration, plus a minor. Graduates work as physiotherapists in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centres, schools, private practices, companies, fitness centres and sports associations.

  • No required subjects; Fontys recommends biology, English and maths.

Every IB applicant at Fontys

The IB Diploma is named as giving access. Many programmes also want satisfactory maths grades, engineering also physics or chemistry, with no IB grade set. An IB Diploma usually exempts you from an English test.
