Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

What it is
The first year covers product analysis, applied mechanics, energy technology, materials engineering, manufacturing technology and professional skills. You learn by doing: real engineering challenges for actual clients from the start, lab practicals, and hands-on work with small systems such as combustion engines, drives and installations. Year two includes a placement at a company of your choice, and year three allows a minor at Hanze, another Dutch university or abroad. The programme has a focus on the energy transition through the EnTranCe centre of expertise, and an honours track exists. Graduates work as power plant, installations or maintenance engineers, in R&D or technical sales, or continue to a master such as Renewable Energy.

Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Hanze
The IB Diploma meets the HAVO-level entry for 4-year programmes and counts as VWO-level for the 3-year ones. It also exempts you from the English test.
How places are decided
- Not selective: meet the VWO-level entry with maths and physics and you are admitted. EU/EEA applicants must meet the requirements by 1 July.
