The history, cultures and politics of South and Southeast Asia, studied alongside a language of the region: Hindi, Sanskrit, Tibetan or Indonesian.
1 December 2026*
Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

6 July 2027*
Both Dutch deadlines fall well before this. How a conditional place pending results is handled is set by each institution; ask yours.

You study the history, cultures and politics of South and Southeast Asia, including development and inequality, ethnic and religious conflict, political and cultural movements and the tension between modernity and tradition, and learn one language: Hindi, Sanskrit, Tibetan or Indonesian. You specialise in either modern societies or classical cultures, with lectures, seminars and language classes. In the third year you spend a semester in the region, at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, the University of Hyderabad or the Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Kathmandu depending on your language, and write a BA dissertation.
