Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

What it is

Year one is a survey from Classical Antiquity to the present, with visual analysis, iconography, materials and techniques, garden heritage, and art and architecture since 1750; year two adds contemporary art, architectural theory, the Italian Renaissance and landscape design. Fridays are usually reserved for excursions, within the Netherlands and to cities such as Berlin, London, Florence and Vienna, and a practice lab and a thesis complete the training. You can specialise in Modern & Contemporary Art, Early Modern Art, Architecture & Urbanism, or Landscape History. Graduates work in museums, heritage management, journalism, publishing and teaching, or continue to a master such as Curatorial Studies.

What you need

  • The IB Diploma counts as Dutch VWO; no minimum points. An IB taught in English waives the English test.
