Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

What it is

You study past societies and what they mean today, working with materials such as pottery, coins and bones, reconstructing landscapes, and learning digital recording and forensic methods. Year one includes What is Archaeology? and a first field school in excavation, and year two adds Science in Archaeology, Archaeology and the City and a second field school. Excavation projects run on Terschelling in the Netherlands and in Greece. Year three covers publishing excavation results and ends with a bachelor thesis, and there is free space for a minor, internship or study abroad. It is a joint degree with another Amsterdam university, with ties to the city archaeological service and the Allard Pierson Museum.

What you need

  • Full IB Diploma needed (IB courses alone are not accepted); English as an IB exam subject covers the English requirement.
