What it is

You start with algebra, mathematical analysis, programming, operating systems administration, data transmission, microcontroller basics and digital electronics, then move on to algorithms, object-oriented and functional programming, physics and metrology. Classes combine lectures, laboratories, workshops and project work. Instead of fixed tracks, electives in the later years cover low-level and high-level programming, real-time operating systems, FPGA and GPU acceleration, system security, signal processing, embedded AI and wireless systems. Graduates work on embedded design in sectors such as automotive, robotics, IoT and medical devices, or continue to a second-cycle degree.

  • Any IB MathsCounts twice (M): your SL grade, or HL if you took maths only at HL
  • Maths HL (AA or AI); or Physics or Computer Science HLBest HL grade from this list counts six times (P1)
  • Maths HL (AA or AI); or Physics, Computer Science, English B or Another language B HLAnother HL subject from this list counts twice (P2); a foreign language counts
