What it is
The first two years are shared with the telecommunications programme and form a common grounding in information and communications technology. Modules include algorithms and programming, circuits and systems, computer systems, telecommunications, operating systems, graphical user interfaces, databases, cryptography and information security, software engineering, compiling techniques and an introduction to artificial intelligence. You work with object programming, CASE-tool-aided design, system analysis, modelling and prototyping, and specialise in computer systems and networks. The aim is to design, implement and operate complex computer systems and networks independently.
