University of Warsaw - 2027/28 admissions may not begin before this dateDetails
A genuine 2027 date, and one of the few in Poland. Senate resolution 278 of 20 May 2026, which governs 2027/28 admissions, states: "Postępowanie rekrutacyjne rozpoczyna się nie wcześniej niż 2 lutego 2027 r. i trwa nie dłużej niż do dnia 30 września 2027 r." It is an outer bound on the whole university, not the opening of any particular round; the round dates come later, in a Rector's ordinance. Resolution 315 of 24 June 2026 amends only the foreign-qualification recognition clause, so these dates are unchanged.

Some Polish deadlines fall after this — Poznan Medical closes on 20 July. Where one closes earlier, ask the university how it takes IB results that arrive later.

University of Warsaw - 2027/28 admissions must conclude by this dateDetails
The closing half of the same sentence in Senate resolution 278: admissions last "nie dłużej niż do dnia 30 września 2027 r." Like the 2 February opening bound, it is an outer limit on the whole university, not the closing date of any round. Resolution 315 of 24 June 2026 changes only the foreign-qualification recognition clause, not this date. The same day is the deadline for asking a recruitment committee to correct your result after a successful matura appeal.

What it is
You study the ancient Mediterranean and South American cultures, excavation methodology and site documentation, data acquisition and processing, museology, and the reading and recording of stratigraphy. Fieldwork is central: seasonal field surveys, at least three excavation seasons, and practical training in documentation and artefact handling, on faculty-led digs in places such as Egypt, Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Italy and South America. The final year brings a BA seminar and bachelor's thesis. Graduates can take part in excavations, do archive research, prepare museum catalogues and exhibitions, and continue to second-cycle archaeology studies.
