What it is
The focus is folk dance, taught through practical classes in dance techniques and styles, with competence in classical and modern or contemporary techniques developed alongside. You study the methodology and didactics of teaching folk dance, dance history, pedagogy, psychology, voice education, dance anatomy and music theory. Choreography, improvisation, stage practice and dramaturgy are part of the training. Graduates teach dance to all ages or work in theatres and dance companies as dancers, ballet masters or assistant choreographers, and may continue to a master's at the same department or elsewhere.

- No grade minimum: a dance technique exam and written test, then teaching demonstrations and interviews; B2 English and a medical certificate are required.

No IB points minimum: auditions, portfolios and talent exams decide. AMU's page lists the IB among foreign diplomas it assesses for a small fee; by Czech law it needs no nostrification.
How places are decided
- Send a CV, cover letter, a teaching video and two written combinations; round 1 (technique, written test) needs 20 of 25, round 2 (demonstrations, interviews) 20 of 25.
