What it is
This choral specialisation is studied with music education. You learn conducting technique, playing from vocal scores, vocal training within a choir, aural analysis and choral literature for different kinds of ensemble, alongside music theory, harmony, history and school-based teaching practice. Performing and demonstrating music yourself is central. Graduates can work in schools, cultural centres and churches, though independent conducting work calls for further study, and the degree leads on to a master's in music education.
