What it is
Studied alongside English, choral singing or an instrument, this degree builds music theory, harmony, counterpoint, organology and music history together with practical work: vocal and instrumental preparation, ear training and choral conducting. Pedagogy, psychology and teaching methodology run alongside, with observation and assistant practice in schools. The degree is a stepping stone toward a master's in music education. Graduates can work as teaching assistants or pedagogues in school and out-of-school music settings, or in cultural administration.

Charles accepts an IB Diploma automatically, with no assessment fee. Each faculty runs its own selection; a few faculty pages still list a recognition fee for foreign diplomas, so ask.
How places are decided
- Two exams worth 40 points each; missing the pass mark in any part of the talent exam scores it zero. 2026 criteria; 2027 not yet published.
