What it is
Studied alongside English, this degree is aimed at musicians who want an education career rather than a performing one. You choose piano or violin as your main instrument and study solo performance, chamber music, improvisation and ensemble playing, together with the construction of instruments and the history of instrumental literature. Graduates can teach in music schools, assist with cultural activities for children, or work in museums and cultural organisations; teaching in primary or secondary schools requires a master's.
