What it is
You study design and architectural composition alongside history and theory, conservation of historic buildings, building physics, structural mechanics, materials and construction technology, with mathematics for representation, urban design, sociology and project evaluation. Design training is central: multidisciplinary studios work hand in hand with theory courses, supported by seminars, workshops and study trips, and a mandatory internship links you to professional practice. Graduates work in design firms, public institutions and construction management, and can register as junior architects after the state exam or continue to a master's in architecture, landscape or urban planning.

The IB Diploma counts if you entered the IB after promotion to your penultimate school year. A diploma taught in English meets the English rule; every degree ranks you on an entrance test.
