What it is
The common first stage covers programming at several levels (hard coding, low code and no code), digital infrastructure and system design, data analysis and management, and current developments such as AI, data protection and the Internet of Things. You then choose from 13 specialisations, including Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Game Design & Development, Robotics and User Interaction Design. Work is project-based for around 120 partner companies in the Brainport and Midpoint Brabant regions, with lab work on physical systems, a compulsory internship, a portfolio and optional study abroad. Graduates become security advisors, AI consultants, data analysts, cloud engineers, game developers or UX designers.

Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Fontys
The IB Diploma is named as giving access. Many programmes also want satisfactory maths grades, engineering also physics or chemistry, with no IB grade set. An IB Diploma usually exempts you from an English test.
How places are decided
- Not selective: meet the requirements and you are admitted. Apply in Studielink by 1 May 2027; a study choice check talk is optional.
