Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

What it is
The first years combine academic and professional skills, an introduction to academic research and core electives on the challenges of modern society, with research and methodology courses in the sciences, social sciences or humanities. Seminars are small and interactive, and you work in teams on real-world projects, often with outside partners, with a capstone project each year and a bachelor thesis. You major in Sciences, Social Sciences or Humanities, and choose a minor, an exchange abroad or an internship; a double degree track with Ca' Foscari University in Venice is available. About 84 percent of graduates continue to a master, in fields such as psychology, medicine or international relations.

The IB Diploma counts as Dutch VWO; no minimum points. An IB taught in English waives the English test.
