What it is
A research-oriented degree built on a strong foundation in mathematics, physics and the core chemical disciplines, giving you a theoretical understanding from the molecular to the macroscopic scale. Much of the learning is hands-on: extensive laboratory work, modern chemical instrumentation, data analysis and an introduction to academic research practice. Graduates can continue to a master's and PhD in chemistry or take entry-level jobs in chemical laboratories, analytical and quality control and research and development, including in materials science, environmental analysis, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
What you need
- The IB Diploma counts as your secondary certificate (ELTE wants it equivalent to the Hungarian matriculation). English B2, or an English-medium school certificate; economics degrees encourage IB results.
