A performer's degree with jazz as the main subject: preparing and performing works in many styles as a soloist or in ensembles, with music history and theory.
The principal instrument or voice (accordion, bass guitar, vocals, flute, piano, guitar, clarinet, double bass, percussion, saxophone, trumpet or trombone) is taught alongside jazz improvisation, jazz harmony and rhythmics, arranging, the basics of jazz composition and jazz history. You play in an ensemble and in a big band (vocalists sing in a jazz choir), and learn digital notation and sound recording equipment. A secondary instrument, professional practice, a final art project and an ensemble art project round it off.
